The word rang in his ears as someone charged toward him. As the figure grew nearer, coming into focus, Frank recognized his sister. She launched at him and flung her arms around his body, nearly knocking him flying.
“Hello Squirt,” he laughed. Frank looked down, with an exaggerated air, at the female in front of him. “Still living up to your title of little sister, I see. I thought you had grown into a woman.”
Frank dropped his bags on the platform, gathered his sister in his arms and swung her around before letting her down.
She laughed. “ I'm all grown now, it's just that you’re a beanpole. She hugged him tightly.
Frank glanced down, spying her wedding band. He frowned, wondering why, after everything. He remembered a short letter from Ruth, explaining about the proposal. Frank still felt worried though. Derek didn't appear a trustworthy character to him.
“What happened to your dreams sis?”
Everything has changed, for now.”
Frank looked at Ruth again, his frown turning to a kind smile.
"And when did you lose the baby?" he asked.
