Marie murmured and moved a little closer to Alex. Her dark hair brushed his chin, tickling, and he shivered.
She kissed him. “I love you.”
“I love you,” he said, dangling his arm into the cold water sensing the strong undercurrent that carried them downstream toward the unknown.
Their only cover, white silk, drifted away into the water. It fell soft and silent as gossamer, revealing their nakedness. This was all they wanted; togetherness.
“It had to be this way,we agreed,”whispered Alex.
“Together.”
Falling finally silent, a swirling mist dropped down, surrounded, and carried two eternal lovers away.
