The velvet backdrop was devoid of stars, yet dazzling neon signs lit up a bustling nightlife. This was an area where Claire felt out of place. Her mother had always been warned about the sins of Soho. Claire wondered what she'd think of her now. Glancing at her watch she quickened her step to Lacey's bar.
Descending the steps to it she was met by a friend who hurried her inside. “Thank goodness you came.”
